So it’s no secret turmeric has medicinal and healing compounds that can do wonders for the mind and body.

I’ve relied on turmeric heavily over the years. I use it regularly in meals, but if cooking with it is not your thing there’s an easier way to use turmeric on a regular basis.

Turmeric tea a few times a week is a great way to ensure you get this supplement. I drink turmeric tea and it truly is a wondrous additive to all that is plentiful and healthy in my diet.

Blueberries are a daily must. To read about the health benefits of blueberries click here.

I plug in matcha – 3-4 times a week. The wonders and health benefits of matcha are enormous.

Green tea – lately it’s been a green tea with matcha that I reach for. I drink this iced in the summer and hot in the winter.

I mention the three as a baseline for brain optimal foods. Blueberries, matcha and green tea are known to support brain health.

Well so is turmeric. It helps keep plaque from building up in the brain ways. This is the stuff that can eventually lead to memory loss, dementia and alzheimers.

Here’s my turmeric tea recipe –

While turmeric root is ideal if you can’t find it or don’t have time to peel and chop then there are alternatives –

Here is the recipe –

Preparation – Stovetop

  1. Simmer the herbs and water for 10 mins

  2. Strain out and add your milk and honey accordingly

Faster Prep – Blender

  1. Bring water to boil in a kettle and add to blender

  2. Add in spices and blend thoroughly until it’s smooth and all the same color

  3. Strain out your tea and add milk and honey to your desired liking

*Footnote

Black pepper aids in absorption of curcumin – the active ingredient in turmeric.
