We Do Create Our Own Destiny

destinypicWe truly do create our own destiny and own reality. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time wrapped up in victimhood. I felt entitled. Things have not been great so yes it’s ok when things aren’t going are way to feel a little down, even sorry for yourself. However, there is that point when we arrive. We decide, no more. I’m done feeling sorry for myself. I’m done moping around. I’m taking my power back. The universe reciprocates. Our thoughts bring everything in our existence to life. When we feel bad about ourselves our picture looks pretty grim. When we start seeing the light things get brighter. It’s such a simple concept. Yes easier said then done. Trust me. I know from first hand experience. It is not easy to get out of that depressed rut. And yes I understand that depression is a disease that can take years and sometimes an entire lifetime to overcome or not. I get that. I just have come out of a very deep dark funk. I’m so lucky to have come out of it. My hamster wheel had been going non-stop. Another thing I came to realize is that I was around other depressed people who just amplified my own fears, insecurities, bitterness. Birds of a feather flock together indeed. Misery does love company. I never knew what that meant, but now I get it. I was so down and out I didn’t even want to be around anyone who wasn’t. Happy people were really pissing me off. Then all of the sudden I arrived. Ting. The light went on and I made a conscious decision to no longer be sad and mopey. It was this deeper understanding that helped me get out of my funk. Our minds are powerful and very complex, but powerful nonetheless. We have total control over our minds. Not speaking of someone who is mentally handicapped or diagnosed insane. Just speaking of your average Joe Schmoe who suffers from depression, even clinical every now and then. Moi! And probably you as well. We’ve all had our ups and downs. It’s like anything in life. The more you feed the fire, the more it burns. The more it takes on a life of its own and the harder it is to get out of that headspace. We really do have to make an effort to get a handle on ourselves. I am inspired because I just put my own brain power to work. I’m reminded again of how much control we have over our own minds, thoughts, and ultimate reality. We are what we believe. We can feed ourselves lots of positivity and affirmations and create a most awesome eventual reality for ourselves as a result.
