The NFL End Racism Ploy

So before Trump decided he’d be attending Super Bowl 59 or Super Bowl LIX the end zones had the words – End Racism on it, but instead the NFL End Racism Ploy turned to “Choose Love.”

NFL End Racism

And while that is a beautiful message the words were changed to soften the blow and soothe the sensitivities of Trump and his Maga base.

In order to truly “End Racism” we have to confront it. We have to admit it exists. And that’s not just minorities, but white people.

As long as black and brown people continue hearing messaging like “don’t make this about race, or America is not racist,” the problem of racism in the U.S. can hardly cease.

Little dip Trump know he’d be walking into a very mixed crowd full of minorities and those who don’t support him or his policies and now a few weeks in to Trump 2.0 his popularity is waning with his barrage of illegal executive orders many which are flat out racist.

Racist Executive Orders

  1. Ending DEI – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
  2. Renaming Mt. Denali to be named after one of the most notoriously racist presidents in U.S. history McKinley
  3. Eradicating the Department Of Eduction – a part of this is to reclaim the false narrative of American History – let’s just take out the part that this land was stolen from the Natives, and let’s not talk about Black History or slavery here in the states either – taking particular aim at critical race theory
  4. Eradicating MLK as a holiday for military members – while hundreds of thousands of black men and women service members have served and given their lives
  5. Stop recruiting black people to the military – the is the latest one

Kendrick Lamar’s Superbowl Halftime

The beauty of all of this is that irrespective of the shallowness and half-heartedness of the NFL to cater to the sensitivities of white fragility by changing the messaging on the sidelines, Kendrick Lamar’s half time show was loaded with symbolism about the very thing the NFL was trying to skirt – racism in America.

Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance started with Samuel L. Jackson as a black Uncle Sam which says so much all while offering a beautiful offensive to the sensitive among us.

The all black performers drove it all home as they lined in perfect unison dawning black headdresses creating the American flag’s red white and blue.

Meanwhile – the drake diss featured his ex girlfriend Serena Williams – but the message was not just about dissing drake by having Williams cripwalk on the stage during his performance of his smash his “Not Like Us,” but rather a dig on racism in sports and how Williams’ crip walk after winning Wimbledon was symbolic of a slap in the face to a notoriously racist sport like tennis that has hardly welcomed minority players with open arms.
