Muhammad Ali is most worthy of all praises. He is worthy in ways that only Ali would be, could be. He leaves a legacy so astounding. He was so much “bigger than boxing,” as he famously professed in an interview. He went on to say he was – “bigger than the Super Bowl, the Rose bowl……”
And he truly was. For those who’ve heard’ve him which is most of the world unless you are in a remote village without any connection to the outside world, what I’m saying here are yes there are people who have not heard of him, but very few – he was more than boxing. He was the first rapper, an activist, and world renown – after converting to Islam.
But it’s things outside of basketball that he’s most legendary for – like giving up his greatest years of his boxing career after refusing the draft. No he wasn’t a draft dodger – he was a hero standing up for a just cause. He stood loud and proud while telling an all white – congressional panel in the 60s – “No I will not go…..to continue the domination of the white slave master……”
