Looking for a good spiritual read? We know all too well the feeling of getting your hands a great book when you’re down and out and feeling that need for that instant feel better, lift you up type of feeling that only a really great and inspirational piece can give you. Well trust me. I know this feeling.
It was this feeling over and over again and being in deep dark spaces that lead me inward to begin with. It was trauma that forced me to read. I was so traumatized I need to heal and recover. I needed to grow and understand why. And then I needing to learn so I could understand on a deeper level the lesson. I knew with each traumatic thing there was no way this was by accident. Not a chance. I had a role in it or a part or lesson let’s say. That was the reason I was witness to these things. And there was something in it for me. I always knew this even with an early transformative event in my life, the first, even then I knew there was more to it.
There was a reason. Some sort of takeaway. And that’s what we always have to look out for in life. What’s the takeaway here? When we begin to understand that things that happen to have a clear message and there is a takeaway that will elevate our awareness if we can tap in on that level to life. Don’t let things just happen to you. When they happen you have to learn. You have to meet that circumstance with grace. There has to be total acceptance.

The Takeaway
The takeaway here is the obvious. There is nothing better than some beautiful and thoughtful or thought provoking words to uplift us. Nothing more powerful than being shown our wings when we’ve fallen and need to get back up and fly. Nothing more awesome then a great book that gives us the profound hope we are looking for in our time of deep despair. Many books have been my greatest companions, source of comfort, teachers, Gurus and guides over the years. Many. And I’m that much wiser for it. It’s a beautiful gift and blessing, the love of reading. One of life’s greatest treasures.

As always I like arming you with the tools you need to find what you’re looking for. I would recommend having a listen to Jon Kabat Zinn on Mindfulness and hearing the eloquence with which he describes meditation. It’ll make you want to meditate. He’s just that good. He really is.
